Hey guys, its been sometime since we (2007 batch) passed out...what are you doing right now? Are you doing any course or have you got into a firm or have you got a training call or doing higher studies? Whatever it is, do tell us, it would be useful for others...they might get some idea as to what to do based on what you are doing.
As for me, I'm planning on doing a course in Java, I enquired at the NIIT centre here and they told me it was not a Sun certified course. I'm considering going to Bangalore at the moment - the course at the NIIT centre there is Sun certified. If you are doing Java, it is recommended to get it Sun certified as otherwise, it doesn't hold much value...the difference in costs might be an important factor too - the course here in Trivandrum costs about Rs. 6000 for the basic Java concepts and at Bangalore, a course of J2EE (that's the first step to be a Sun Certified Java Programmer) costs Rs. 25000! If that is a lot, for the same course (J2EE), the Bombay centre quoted Rs. 40000!
Weird. I guess the city matters after all. I was surprised at the huge difference between the Bombay and Bangalore centres for the same course though!
There - I'm sure that would help atleast ONE guy who is looking to do a Java course - that's the idea...tell us what you've been doing!
