IEEEXtreme 24 hour Programming Challenge
IEEE Xtreme is a Student Activities Committee (SAC) initiative for creating a worldwide programming contest for IEEE Student Branches. IEEE Xtreme is a worldwide contest in which teams of student members, supported by a Student Branch, advised and proctored by an IEEE Member, compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems. The contest will begin at 12:00 midnight and end the following day.
Contest Goals:
Provide Student Branches with a new and interesting activity
Increase the number of activities with a focus on the computer, programming and information technology fields with fans in IEEE
General Organization
Teams will include up to 3 IEEE student members (Student members (StM) or Graduate Student members (GSMs)
Student Branches will host the event for their local team, with easier access to university facilities, branch promotion and awareness building on campus
Each of the places where the competition is hosted (ranging from Student Branch offices to college labs) is called a Venue
Each Venue should be equipped with at least one computer and some kind of connection to the Internet
Each of these Venues should have a Proctor, who should be an IEEE Member of higher membership grade (not a student member or graduate student member)
Proctor tasks include:
Receive problems and provide them to students
Monitor the general flow of the activity
Inform students when the competition begins, at the middle of it, when there are 6 hours left and when there is one hour left
Collect the solutions to each of the problems and keep a record of the timing
NOTE: IEEE SB MESCE will host the event subject to approval by the execom.Interested students should submit names to the student branch office.Preference will be given to IEEE members.
